Since no-one likes surprises along the way on the vacation, we will do our best to estimate as many as possible costs that might occur.

Sailing boat

The charter fee covers the boat and a dinghy. There is often charge for linen ( if You do not have Your own) and a mandatory cleaning fee, from 150 EUR to 300 EUR, depending on the size of boat.

In case You would like to use small motor for the dinghy , some of the companies will charge you for additional amount. All additonal amounts are indicated online, and if outboard engine is not mentioned as additional service, it means it is included in price.

Other larger costs are provisioning, mooring costs and fuel. Fuel and mooring costs are not included in price.

Mooring & berth fees

Mooring fees should be paid when spending the night in a port or bay that is not a base port. There is a difference in cost among town key fee and marina fee.

Average mooring fee for sailing yachts in Croatian marinas from 10- 20m/ is from 80 EUR/ per night to 160 EUR/ night.

In some of the places anchoring is free of charge, in some of them you should pay for anchoring. It is best to check in boat pilot books, where you should pay, and where anchoring is free. When paying for anchoring, company who collects the money should pick up your garbage as well.

Many people prefer to be safe on buoy than at anchor, and this would be a cheaper option than a mooring.

Charter security deposit

When chartering a vessel, You will be asked to pay a security deposit. This is usually done by credit card preauthorization of funds and tearing it up/ receiving original confirmation when boat is returned in good condition. Bank will make storno of transaction in case that no funds have been taken from the account.

Other option would be to leave security deposit amount in cash , which will be returned at end of trip when there is no damage on the boat and everything is working properly.

Third option would be damage waiver where You mostly get back half of paid amount at end of vacation when everything is ok with the boat. It can vary from 150 to 450 EUR.

Conditions depend on different insurance companies. If the boat provider is not offering damage waiver, there is plenty of online insurance offers, where you can insure deposit amount (recommended).
